San Francisco Black Film Festival Co-Presents with The Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema....

The San Francisco Black Film Festival XXV, in its year-long anniversary celebration of “25 years of Resilience and Empowerment” is honored to be a Co-Presenter of The Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema Film Crawl. September 8, SFBFF XXV will present the following short films at screenings 7-9 p.m. at Progressive Grounds Café, 400 Cortland Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110:

Black is Everything – TRT:4:36 Blackness is Everything is an experimental/performative short film that celebrates the diversity of the Black diaspora in The Bay Area. Directed by: Alba Roland Mejia/Written & Performed by: Donte Clark.

The Block  (Dir. Mimi Chakarova) - TRT:24:58-Inventively funny, absurd and surprising, this mixed media film redefines what it means to coexist with others in a perpetually changing neighborhood.

Reggie and June - (Dir. Brandon Thomas) - TRT: 12:51- Amid raising a 3-year-old toddler, a young Black father “Reggie” is completely oblivious to how he botched a traditional Chinese event important to his Asian-American wife. June will one-up Reggie’s mistake with her lack of understanding of her husband’s Black experience.

The San Francisco Black Film Festival Congratulates SFBFF Alum, Damon Jamal...

Kudos for his new award-winning film "Survival" Co-produced with Executive producer and veteran casting director Leah Daniels Butler (Empire, All American, and Coming 2 America) and her husband Henry Butler, Co-founder of 1oneninety5 production company.

"Survival" is a gut-wrenching roller coaster ride of a thriller as an African American husband struggles with police to locate his kidnapped wife. To be Released on September 25, 2023 on Prime Video; Google TV; Apple TV+ streaming platforms.

Jamal screened his film "Sankofa..."Connecting the Dots" about trade between the U.S. and Durban, South Africa in 2017 and he was among the first filmmakers to tell Colin Kaepernick's story.
